3. Depression isn't an illness

Depression is an illness just like every other illness that you know. It can only be treated through therapy and counseling by professionals. Over 264 million people have this illness globally and it can be fatal.



4. It can fizzle out without any medication.

Untreated depression will only get worse. It does not just cease over time. It requires a conscious treatment process led by a well-trained Psychiatrist and therapist.



5. You'll get depression because someone in your family has it.

Although depression may have hereditary links, it is not the case that you will have depression just because an older person in your family has it.
